Thing #132: Pick Your Own Apples, Medford, Sewell

Hand picked fruit always tastes better!  Maybe it’s because picking it from a vine or tree is more exciting than trying to look like you know what you’re doing at the grocery store;-)  Normally the “Pick-Your-Own” Apple season begins in early September but, much like the Blueberry crops this year, it looks like the season might start early.  They’ve already begun picking apples at Johnson’s Farm in Medford.

We waited a bit too long this year to go Blueberry Picking, so we don’t want to miss out on another fun family adventure.  We’ve gone apple picking at Johnson’s Farm in the past and like it because there’s always the possibility of picking up their cider donuts on the way home:-)  Plus there’s lots of other cool things for the kids to enjoy.

I’ve also mentioned Duffield’s Farm before and know that you can go apple picking there as well.  According to their Facebook page, they started picking apples last week.

How about you, where do you like to go to pick apples in South Jersey?

Have a great day exploring your world!
